GIVE A HABITAT DAY. GET A DISNEY
DAY.
Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County is a volunteer-driven organization. We
welcome
people from all walks of life to join us as we build relationships and
strengthen community through
the construction of new homes with qualified low income families. Though the
vast majorities
have no construction experience or building skills, volunteers are involved in
most phases of
construction. By working side-by-side with the family who will live in the
house, our volunteers
experience for themselves the joy created when a family is able to realize their
dream of home ownership.
We invite volunteers to help us build, work in the ReStore or Thrift Store,
serve on committees, and help with special projects that benefit the
organization.

WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP...
Construction - Build Houses
Do I need experience?
No, all skill levels are welcome. Our trained staff will
help you along the way.
How much time do I have to commit?
You may volunteer as often or as little as your schedule
allows. We do ask that you commit
an entire day to the build site. Sites
are open Tuesday through Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
What do I
do when I get to the build site?
Please arrive promptly at or before 8:00 a.m. for site
assignments & safety procedures.
You will meet the site supervisor at the Habitat sign in
the front of the build site. At this time, you should turn in your completed
liability waiver and sign-in using the binder provided at the site.
What type of work will I be doing?
Volunteers work on nearly every facet of home
construction, helping with
dozens of tasks including: painting, framing, landscaping,
roofing, and much more. You will
find out your tasks when you arrive on the build site that
day.
What should I wear?
Each volunteer should wear closed-toe shoes (no
flip-flops!) and comfortable,
breathable clothing. Regardless of what task you’ll be
doing, proper working attire will help
make your day more comfortable. South Florida is typically hot and humid so
dress accordingly.
Do I need to bring anything?
Volunteers should bring lunch, a water bottle, a completed
liability form, and, if you have
them, work gloves. All tools and
safety equipment, including hard hats, are provided on site.
Can I bring
a friend?
Each person who volunteers is required
to register online in advance.
Where are
the build sites located?
We are currently building in Jupiter
and West Palm Beach.
Location details
will be sent to you once you register
to volunteer.

WHAT CAN YOUTH DO TO HELP? (Under the age of 16)
At
Habitat we believe in our youth, and are continually seeking new ways to help
get
them
involved in our organization. Youth are welcome to create gifts for our Habitat
homeowners,
prepare and serve lunch at a construction site, or organize a variety of
fundraising events.
For
liability reasons anyone under the age of 16 is not allowed to volunteer on our
construction,
ReStore, or Thrift Store sites. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator
if you
are interested in getting your youth involved.
